For Your Weekend

Some of you have already gone back to school, others are gearing up for a new beginning this coming week.  Here in Norfolk, we still have three weeks left of summer, so I’m clinging on to these lazy days, praying for endurance in the midst of our summer rhythm, and hoping to squeeze in a few more beach days despite the intense heat.

Here are some links for you as you enjoy your weekend.

For those Olympic fans out there, this post by Amanda Bacon, is an excellent comparison between Olympic athletes and believers in Christ.  Praise the Lord our destiny in Christ is sure!

For the ones who have sent (or are sending) children back to school, this post on stepping back and letting go, by Cynthia Stuckey.

For those who might be like me and struggling through a ‘slump’ right now, this post on laying aside the weight of moodiness, by Desiring God.

For those who might like a new recipe, these fudgy dark chocolate cookies, by A Dash of Lovely, look amazing.

And because I am currently having fun creating a more inviting front porch–hello cooler fall evenings that are coming!!–, this post on outdoor space inspiration, by The Inspired Room.

And one more, from the archives here at Life with Truth, because life doesn’t normally fit into our ideas of ‘normal’.

Happy weekend, friends!
