Because It’s Tuesday :: A Giveaway
Two weeks from today my oldest two girls are going to school. One of them to First Grade, one to Kindergarten. Both attending public school for the first time. And while I’m confident this is the best decision for us right now (more on that in a later post, maybe), it’s still a bit disconcerting to think of them being away from me all day. However, I can literally see the door of their school from my driveway, so there is some comfort in knowing that they are right next door.
These two weeks are for getting everyone ready for a new routine, squeezing out a few more beach days (hopefully), finishing up a few of our summer projects, and enjoying the time together during the day.
We had a great vacation in Puerto Rico last week. Also, more on that in a later post. The Lord blessed us with time away from the kids, which we needed, and we came back feeling more prepared to face the challenges that await us each day in being parents. We’re already dreaming of our next vacation, even if it won’t be for a couple of years…
I shared with you last Tuesday about how slow can be uncomfortable, and about Emily P. Freeman’s newest book that came out. Well, for those of you who may have purchased a book from August 11-28, there is a free Conversation Guide available for download here. This would be a great tool for discussing the book with friends, a Bible study group, or just for your own further learning. And, if you haven’t purchased a copy yet, you still have a few days to take advantage of this free offer!
Because #itssimplytuesday today, I’m also GIVING AWAY TWO COPIES of Simply Tuesday!!
Yes, you read that correctly! Two copies of Simply Tuesday are just waiting to get into the mail, on to your doorsteps, and into the minds and hearts of two of you!
TO ENTER: Just leave a comment on this post telling me one ordinary Tuesday-like thing that you are celebrating today. For example: a flower, baking cookies, coffee with a friend, dinner ready on time, a quiet moment with the Lord, a folded pile of clothes, etc.
Also, don’t worry if your comment doesn’t appear right away. I approve all comments first. Because, spammers and weirdos and such.
FOR AN EXTRA ENTRY: Subscribe to Life with Truth and never miss an update. Just click here and look for the “Get Notifications” option on the right-hand sidebar of my home page, enter your email address and click submit.
I’ll choose two random winners and announce on Saturday, August 29, so you have a few days to enter.
Happy Tuesday, y’all!

After a week of moving and saying goodbye to family moving across the world and hard talks and processing life changes, we decided to head to the mall on a Tuesday night to remind ourselves of the precious things–for him, it meant swinging golf clubs at Dicks Sporting Goods, and for me it meant smelling fall-scented candles at Bath and Body Works (we’re fairly stereotypical ;)). Simply Tuesday meant simply remembering the joy in the “everyday.”

I pulled a lasagna out of the freezer, which got me off the need-to-make-dinner hook and gave me more time to get ready for one last trip before school starts! Your county must be on the same schedule as ours – we start the 8th also. And hurray for being close enough to walk our kids to school (you’ll love that!), but we’re not quite as close as you are!
