For Your Weekend
Things are shaping up in our new Virginia home quite nicely! There are just a few boxes remaining to unpack and then I can get into the fun part of decorating and prettifying our home. I thought I’d share some of my favorite ‘Pins’ as I’ve been planning and trying to think through the best ways to organize and set up our home.
We have a living room that is mostly empty, so we’ve been dreaming and planning about how to best use that space for visiting with friends.
A new kitchen always means finding creative ways to store dishes, utensils, and other odds and ends. My goal is to keep my counters and drawers clutter free, so I’m trying my hardest to begin life in this home that way.
Closet organization is something most people do at the beginning of the year, but if your year is starting in February, like mine has, this might be a great weekend project for you!
We purchased an older home that is full of charm, including a master bathroom that looks a little bit like this picture below. Ours is a little bit funky, but I love it and can’t wait to add some splashes of color.
The thought of sitting outside right now makes me shiver, but spring is coming, and we’re looking forward to using our porches for relaxing and entertaining.
This little craft would be easy to put together on a cold afternoon! And, your kids or would love it!
I saw this pin just this morning and it looks absolutely delicious! Slow cookers are the way to go in the winter, and for a weekend meal you’d be free from the kitchen.
One of the challenges for me in getting settled is balancing caring for my family while trying to unpack and decorate as quickly as possible. This quote from C.S. Lewis is a good reminder for me.
May you have a weekend that is restful, productive, full of joy, and centered on Jesus.

Your house is lovely and I can’t wait to see what ideas you incorporate in it! Finding that balance between caring for kids and the desire to make a home is so, so hard for me.
